Localite Tour Bulgaria

We visited the Old city of Plovdiv on July 16th and Velislav was out tour guide. He is an exceptional young man who loves his job and his city, extremely knowledgeable, kind and accommodating. Veliskav's in depth knowledge of the acient history of the world is impressive and admirable. His perfect English speaking skills helped a lot with trying to explain the beauty and singnificance of this place to our not-so-well Bulgarian speaking children. We strongly recommend using Velislav's services when visiting Plovdiv and all major historical destinations in Bulgaria.

- Canyon Waterfalls One-Day Hike + Shiroka Laka Village -Velko was very flexible in his arrangements and he even customised and suggested some itineraries for my friend and I. We were initially interested in doing a hike on the Rila Mountains but because it is not an optimal time to hike there, Velko suggested doing a Canyon Waterfalls one-day hike at Rhodope Mountain and a visit to Shiroka Laka Village. Velko even included a traditional picnic lunch for us up in the mountain. So glad that we took up Velko’s recommendation!Velko is a tour guide who really does more than what is required of him. At Shiroka Laka Village, Velko was planning to bring us to a museum but it was closed on a Sunday and he even went to call to see if they are able to open up the museum for us. Even though there was no answer, we ended up having a small tour around a local guest house there. After that, Velko brought us to see a church to tell us more about the history there. On the way back to Plovdiv city centre, Velko made several stops along the way to make sure that we get a good view of the beautiful Vacha Dam. Furthermore, he also detoured just to show us the Rowing Canal (not part of the itinerary).I truly enjoyed myself on this one day hike at Rhodope Mountain with Velko and would definitely recommend his services! 101% won’t regret! It was indeed my most memorable day in Bulgaria thanks to Velko ☺️

Second time with Velislav and he never disappoints with his hiking tours. Beautiful view points, friendly and charming guide and super knowledgeable about all things nature! Recommended 100% for solo travellers, couples or groups!

Excellent guide! Had a great day trip to Asen's fortress, Bachkova monastary and a walk in the Rodopi mountains. Velislav knew a lot about the sights and supplied us with plenty of good stories about the places we visited.

I had a 4-day trip to Rhodope. We have agreed very quickly on all the terms of cooperation. Velko sent me in an advance draft of the trails. The crossing of the Rodope mountain was amazing. Even though, there was a rain one day, Velko came with an alternative programme (visiting a cave). From Rhodope I traveled to Plovdiv, where Velko arranged for me a ticket for the evening performance. The ticket was left at the reception of the hotel. Simply amazing, professional approach. I highly recommend his services.

I found Localite Tour and Velislav after a long time searching online for possible Buzludzha tours. Velislav took me on a great road trip from Plovdiv, unfortunately we were not able to reach the monument due to the weather conditions and heavy snow in the mountains. Anyway, we had a lot of fun in a real Winter Wonderland around the Shipka monuments, the Thracians tombs and Kazanlak. We shared a great Bulgarian meal in such a typical place ! I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Localite Tour on a full day hiking Waterfalls Canyon with a stop in lovely Shiroka Laka village. Velislav was easy to communicate with and quick to respond to my request for an individual trip and make arrangements. The excellent Kiril was my guide on an easy going hike with plenty of time to stop and wonder at the extraordinary beauty of the Rhodope Mountains. Many of the trees are just starting to get their fall colors, and I imagine it'll keep getting more beautiful. My only regret is not being able to do *all* the tours Localite offers! Also, the price for a single person full day tour was extremely reasonable! Finally, as an someone in the field of environmental conservation, the tour was pretty cool because we hiked an eco-trail and went through the Soskovcheto Reserve. Love seeing Bulgaria's conservation efforts!

Very nice experience of Bulgarian lazy trip from Plovdiv to Buzludzha and Kazanlak. We asked for a trip at the very last moment and there was no problem to make it. Velko is a storyteller and a careful driver, so we enjoyed a time listening to the historical and social information. We love the day together in an easy going atmosphere.

I did 3 private tours with Localite Tour while I was in Plovdiv, and i am so happy I went with this company. Velislav, the owner of the company, is an excellent guide & he explains everything like if he’s telling a story which made it much easier to understand.I had so much fun throughout all 3 tours. Waterfall day hike + visit to the Shiroka laka villageManaged to find Velislav (from Localite Tour) after googling for quite a while trying to find hikes near Plovdiv / in Bulgaria and am glad that I've decided to go with it!Only contacted Velislav 3 days before the actual hike and I got quick replies from him, along with some suggestions to make the hike a better one. Velislav is very passionate about Bulgaria and throughout our trip into the Ruhdope mountains, he pointed out some interesting facts about the various attractions that we've passed by and even took the scenic drive to show us best views of the valleys within the Ruhdope mountains.The waterfall hike itself was amazing and it has lots of unforgettable views. I thought it was pretty thoughtful of Velislav to suggest having a picnic lunch on top of one of the view points of the waterfall and we had some traditional Bulgarian food. The visit to Shiroka laka village was an eye-opening experience for me as I visited a traditional house, learned more about its culture and visited a church in the village (there isnt such an experience in Singapore).I visited Plovdiv with no expectations and this is definitely the best day in my Bulgaria trip! It was indeed a wonderful experience and I look forward to explore the Rila mountains next time with Velislav again! I highly recommend his services.Thank you once again, Velislav! :)
