I have taken a motorcycle tour in Bulgaria with Rosetta Moto Tours during 9 days in May-June 2019. They called it the “Orpheus Expedition” and it mainly in the Balkan and Rhodopes mountain range. This was a one of the most memorable and nice experiences that I’ve had as a seasoned tourist and bike rider!My experience started at the first evening when arriving to the Varna Airport, I met the Rosetta team who welcomed me with a nice dinner were we got acquainted and a nightly sight seeing of Varna. The next morning we collected our bikes (the wonderful and almost brand-new Honda Africa Twin Adventure) and had 7 full days of riding, eating good and relaxing in the Bulgarian mountainous countryside. This Orpheus Expedition took emphasis on the ancient history of the area and especially the Thracian, and on the popular cultural heritage of Bulgaria. In terms of motorcycle riding, it was not difficult, not technically and not physically (I think we rode an average of about 350 Km per day) but for most of the riding, the views were magnificent and in many areas there were many enjoyable turns and corners. We have tried to avoid highways and major roads and for most of the time enjoyed roads which were very sparse in traffic (and policing).The Rosetta Moto Tours team proved to be extremely friendly and professional at I sincerely plan to visit again and take one of their other expeditions to see and enjoy more of Bulgaria!
