The 'HUG Center' HOSTEL of VeloLobby

Amazing place with generous people. Very special to be able to visit as part of our cycling tour. And amazing that you can stay for free as a warm showers guest. Thank you Hug centre! :)

Stunning place 20 min away from the bus/train station (direct bus), with friendly guests and welcoming volunteers. I stayed there three nights and had a wonderful time. I really recommend it, this was an amazing experience and if I ever have the chance I will come back for sure! Ideal for solo travelers and also suitable for groups. The hostel is close to the supermarket and provides all necessary facilities.

It's more than a hostel. It's a full community project about sustainability and connecting people, Ukrainian refugees shelter, cyclist friendly house and workaway host. The room where I stayed was build without spending almost a penny, built but the owners and volunteering help, recycling every single material in it. More than recycling, the concept they use is reclaiming: reuse functional assets with an extra hand of improvement.This is the conception that defines this place. Let's don't consume new polluting materials, and let's reuse whatever has been already created.You can come here to stay (it's donation-based), to cooperate with your work, to propose ideas for the space, to ask for advice in you bicycle trip or just to meet nice people.

i don’t even know how to put this experience into words. the week and a half i spent here was has beautiful, heartbreaking and chaotic at the same time. i didn’t expect to be ticking ‘survive a fire’ off of my bucket list anytime in this life, but the universe likes to throw some crazy challenges at you!i met so many beautiful people here. this place feels like home now and a huge part of me is so heartbroken to be moving on to my next stop so fast.but i will be back very soon @hugcenter :) i am so thankful for my time here <3if you’re good at construction, definitely consider visiting and volunteering some time with them! there is always such an amazing group of people to work with + so much to do <3

Not ‘just a hostel’ but a meeting point for travelers, cyclists, backpackers, hikers & hitchhikers and restless global wanderers, Hug is not ‘just a hostel’ but a project that grows and evolves everyday and that also became a shelter that welcomes refugees from Ukraine.I don’t remember experiencing such a sense of community, of sharing, of belonging in any hostel where I stayed in the last years like I felt at Hug, thanks to Evgeny’s mind and kind heart. He makes everyone feel at home making people and cultures come together in this very special place, an ‘ephemeral home’ for travelers near the beautiful Black Sea, feels like familiy. Thanks Evgeny and thanks to everyone, hope to be back.

Stay in the hostel was awesome even though we arrived after fire had destroyed a big part of it. The people there were super kind and helpful. I wish I would see it when it is all back to its former glory.

We arrived few days after the heavy fire that destroyed part of the buildings on our bicycle trip. What we can say is that even the fire has damaged part of the place, its heart and spirit is intact.There is a lot of reconstruction to do (if you feel like helping, there are options) and with the will and resilience of Evgeny and his friends that were there, I am sure they will recover from this sad accident.Practically speaking, you will still have kitchen access, bed, hot shower and everything you need.Thank you for your availability, generosity and kindness in these hard times.We hope to visit you again sooner or later.All the best!Greg & Andrea
